holiday parties

Now that the Holiday Season is in full swing, the number one thing on my mind (besides getting all my shopping done) is all the lovely parties that are coming up.  I love getting all dressed up in rich colors and embellished accessories.  This bag happens to be a favorite of mine for this time of year - it makes an outfit feel that much more special with it's sporadic array of sequins (and allows me to easily hold a cocktail and sample yummy h'orderves with its long strap).  I'm also in love with this dress from the UK online shop, Asos.  The ruching reminds me of some of the pieces in Burberry's SS10 collection that I love so much.  Anyway, hope you're having a great start to the week, my dears, and may there be many lovely Holiday parties on your social agenda this year!

the vicious kind

One of my favorite films that gets me in the mood for Thanksgiving is The Vicious Kind.  The film's setting is beautifully bleak, its characters are striking, and the indie gem just leaves you wanting to know more. Since one of this fall's major trends is rugged Americana, I thought I'd focus on the wardrobes of the characters as well.  The cast dons must-have pieces such as boyfriend cardigans, combat boots and shearling jackets while they're home from college and enjoying their Thanksgiving feast in the small but quirky Virginia town.  I definitely recommend bundling up in some of these fashionable items, making the classic day-after-Thanksgiving sandwich, and renting The Vicious Kind during the holiday weekend.

friday inspiration

I don't know about you, but it's been one long week for me.  Friday couldn't have come any faster.  Here's a few of my favorite party photos to get me in the mood to let go of everything on my mind and just have some fun (like that will take too much effort).  Take a second to check out the new Jeff Silverman Banner Store that's located on the right of my site, and don't forget to tell your friends to become a follower of The Little Love List in order to be in the running to win a pair of his amazing shoes.  Also, bloggers, keep on sending those emails to get the chance to host Jeff's site on your blog as well.  It's an unbelievable opportunity with so many rewards - I assure you.  Have a fabulous weekend.. Cheers, my darlings!

an early holiday surprise for one of my amazing readers..

Hi loves.  I'm excited to announce that in a few days I will be launching a Jeff Silverman shoe giveaway!  For those of you who are not familiar with his work, Jeff has been in the industry for the past 30 years and was the former president of Steve Madden; needless to say, I'm incredibly honored to be collaborating with him.
I've been working on this for about a month and have kept it very hush-hush, so you can only imagine my delight when I found out that I get to share this with you today.  I will have a lot more information shortly - so keep checking back with Lovely Little Vices.  Also, a heads up to my fellow fashion bloggers:  Jeff will be giving me an additional 3 pairs of shoes to give away to the top 3 bloggers who would like to host his store on their site, so please let me know if you're interested.  Hope y'all are as excited as I am!

over the knee boots and sequins

[silence + noise sequin tunic.  f21 boyfriend cardigan.  jeffrey campbell over the knee boots.  hue tights. deena & ozzy chain purse. vintage gucci watch.  david yurman bracelet.  other jewelry vintage.]

The weather in Florida is finally getting chilly enough for me to start to wear my over the knee boots - and I couldn't be happier.  I opted to pair them with an embellished top for a night out, but was sure to tone the look down by sticking with all black accessories.  The boots were so unbelievably comfortable that I doubt I'll ever want to take them off for any extended amount of time.  Definitely my new favorite shoes at the moment.

style inspiration: clémence poésy

I've had a little bit of a girl crush on French actress Clémence Poésy ever since I saw her in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter is one of my many guilty pleasures along with Gossip Girl, as you can see above).  She has this way about her that is completely enchanting - a certain je nais se quoi one might say.  She is obviously beautiful, but it's the grace she exudes that really gets me.  Her style is undeniably French; she works that balance of looking absolutely amazing, but never appears overdone.  Seriously, how amazing are her looks in these photos??  Also, Vanity Fair just featured a great article on Clémence about her role as James Franco's girlfriend in the new film 127 Hours.  They note that she is not only gorgeous, but an absolute sweetheart.  I love hearing things like that.  Hopefully you draw some inspiration from this girl's amazing style - I know I will.

bear creek music festival

I just made it back from Bear Creek Music Festival, and needless to say, I had a fantastic time.  I drew so much inspiration from the music, the nature, and just the overall good feelings the festival had to offer.  Everyone I met was so kind and tons of fun to be around; it was a great escape from reality to say the least.  Hope you enjoy some of the photos I took over the weekend (I promise to have more fashion related ones soon!).  Now it's time I get back to the real world..

indian summer

[unknown sweater.  soprano dress.  mossimo supply co. moto boots.  deena & ozzy pony purse.  vintage jewelry.]

Shows and music festivals are where I've had some of my most favorite times.  I love the feeling of being totally immersed into the sounds of the music, soaking in the sun and fresh air with your closest friends, and just having that overwhelming sense of total freedom and relaxation.  It is a difficult feeling to describe - you have to experience it for yourself.  This weekend, I'll be heading out to Live Oak, Florida for Bear Creek Music Festival, and I couldn't be more excited.  I'm currently trying to pack as efficiently as possible (which is a huge task for me), so I'm sticking with some comfortable dresses, over-sized sweaters, cozy berets, a big bag, and my trusty motorcycle boots (I'm trying to channel the amazing brand, Little Doe. It's perfect for some festi-inspiration).  Nothing fancy or expensive, just easy, non-fussy pieces that will allow me to not have to worry about anything but making it to the next stage before the set starts.  I hope you have a marvelous weekend, and always remember "the trick is to surrender to the flow."

ferocious

If I haven't made it glaringly obvious yet, I really love deer and other furry creatures found in the forest (see here, here, here, and here).  The stag cheese board and knife and the grizzly bear bottle opener pictured above are two of my absolute favorite things in my house - They always prove to be great conversation pieces when I'm hosting parties.  So naturally, whenever I'm out shopping I always have my eye out for more crazy animal pieces to add to my collection, and when I stumbled upon these items in my online shopping adventures, I just had to put them at the top of my wish list for Holiday entertaining.

I'm obsessed.
